HISTORY:
JONG was started by 5 Socially committed people who wanted to bring social change through educational and economic empowerment of  the less fortunate people living in II India i.e. the rural India. Rural India lacks many facilities and privileges  which the urban India enjoys. They made a preferential option to work with 4 less privileged  communities namely untouchable Dalits, Valayar Tribe, Vallambar and Sri Lankan Refugees living in remote backward villages of Sakottai Block Of Sivagangai District and Thirumayam Block of Pudukottai District.
VISION:
A society in which everyone lives a dignified life establishing oneself in the family and community by enjoying his or her rights. JONG’s entry point is children, Basic unit of development is family; and community organization is the approach. It makes attempts to empower people through capacity building and bring in Social Transformation.
MISSION:
JONG has a commitment to identify itself with socially and economically marginalized and work towards their wholistic development that they may become aware,get  organized,educated and skilled.It has a mandate to enable the less fortunate that they may become self-reliant enjoying good health and qualified life.
